Circumpolar ExpeditionsCircumpolar Expeditions was the first company to operate a commercial flight in the Arctic. This flight crowned the experience of Tandy Wallack, its owner who has a background in aviation and a passion for exploration. Circumpolar Expeditions was established in 1982 as an independent travel company. Since its opening it has specialized in business & leisure travel in Alaska and the Russian Far East. But most of all, Tandy is known for her passionate involvement with Chukotka, one of the closest Russian territories to Alaska. For years now, Tandy has taken people who either were just interested to step into Russia for a couple of days, or those more interested in a truly Arctic native experience, to Chukotka. Most recently, she has involved herself even more in assisting Chukotka in becoming an interesting travel destination by teaching the native communities how to develop community based tourism.
